1069 (H) - Chapter 0 : Prologue
The city’s concrete and rebars were utilized to build high-rise buildings. Cars, as usual, were running along the roads and often congested and stuck at the intersection in the most prosperous city center, along with those office workers that rode motorcycles. The green light flashed slowly, signaling the need to linger until the next green light flashed.
Dressed in a camouflage outfit, a tall and shaved head man looked perplexed at the hectic crowd in front of him. He strolled alone on the pavement with a whitened denim bag on his back, while keeping the same distance between every step. His aura made him seem so out of place in this bustling city.
The man unknowingly walked up to a building. Through the opened and chilly folding gate, skimming the occasional glance at him from the security room, he saw multiple white-collar elites who looked different from his dirty self in the glass window.
“Excuse me, please move aside!”
An impatient male voice rang from his right. His low and melodious voice echoed like it was just within reach. The man turned around, and the opened window of a car revealed a handsome face. The young man’s slightly raised eyebrows showed his displeasure, and his picky eyes became even more unhappy at the sight of the man’s out-of-date camouflage outfit and the old denim bag that had been used for many years. Looking at the man’s masculine, dark, and square face with the most old-fashioned shaved head, the young man in the car suddenly frowned in dislike.
However, the man had a gleam in his bright and piercing eyes, and he couldn’t help touching his shaved head. His masculine face had an honest expression, and he apologized, “I’m sorry. I didn’t pay too much attention.”
With that, he tightened the strap of the denim bag on his shoulder, turned around, and walked across the road to the opposite side. The sunlight settled on the man’s strong and broad back. The young man in the car grunted coldly, closed the window, and drove through the folding gate after a step at the accelerator.
The rear mirror reflected the face of the man who turned around and faced his direction, yet the young man in the car didn’t notice.
