Xie Luyang perused the paper filled with Su Zhou’s handwriting in front of him, and the corners of his mouth lifted imperceptibly. Su Zhou must have copied the text from somewhere as he would never have been able to write with such straightforward phrases.
Xie Luyang had never paid any particular interest to this circle before, and his only visual impression was of the club’s performance. Those acts seemed rather violent from his perspective. He could not understand what kind of pleasure flogging could possibly bring to the sadist or the masochistic party. Hence, he had been worried that Su Zhou would want to be treated that way before.
But after taking a closer look at the assignment in hand, Xie Luyang had his worries eased. Su Zhou hadn’t penned down any violent acts; there was simply no way he could satisfy Su Zhou’s fantasies if that were the case.
After establishing a relationship with Su Zhou, he carefully studied the various theories that were aimed at SM. And judging from the contents written on the piece of paper, Su Zhou was interested in BDSM, focusing on the emotional experience of the discipline process rather than mere physical stimulation. Xie Luyang held similar views in this regard, also believing that the atmosphere of the act was far more important than the method.
Su Zhou’s preference was roughly within his speculations, but there were a few unexpected terms that caught Xie Luyang’s attention. He wasn’t sure if Su Zhou was truly on board with it, or if he wanted to experiment to satisfy his curiosity.
He wanted to worm the information out of Su Zhou that very minute, but when he reached the door of the other’s bedroom, he found him already lying on the bed. He was unable to tell if Su Zhou was asleep or not, and after thinking about it, he eventually settled on asking some other time.
As a result of the change in plans, the matter ended up dragging on for several days.
When the weekend came around, Xie Luyang woke Su Zhou up as per their routine to go on a morning run.
The weather was utterly sweltering by late May, causing both men to sweat buckets after their run.
“I’m going out for a bit this afternoon. Su Tong is here.” Su Zhou said to Xie Luyang on the way home.
Xie Luyang pondered for a moment. “I’ll go with you.” He wanted to be more involved in Su Zhou’s daily life.
Whether the unpleasant incident from last time had long been forgotten or not, he did not refuse this time. The two left alongside one another in the afternoon.
Having already been introduced once before, Su Tong was babbling more today.
“I think you’re more qualified at being an elder brother than my gege,” she said to Xie Luyang over dinner.
Su Zhou gave her a look. “Just because he accepts all of your requests?”
Su Tong did not deign to answer and continued to pester Xie Luyang. “I’ll call you ge in the future. Do you have younger siblings?”
“You can just refer to me by my name. Does your brother not treat you well?” Xie Luyang has a younger brother; a child born to his remarried father following his mother’s passing. He wasn’t keen on revealing that bit of information.
“It’s not that he isn’t good. It’s just that my brother is particularly boring, don’t you think?”
“No, I think he’s entertaining.” Xie Luyang, having no prior knowledge of what Su Zhou usually tells Su Tong, didn’t mention anything about the two of them living together.
The chopsticks in Su Zhou’s grip paused at his words but quickly recovered. “She likes the handsome and loquacious types, like Chang Dong.”
“You don’t think your brother is handsome?” Xie Luyang asked, puzzled.
“My ma says my brother looks venerable, not handsome. If anything, I think you’re the handsome one.”
Those words got a chuckle of amusement out of Xie Luyang. Su Zhou stared speechlessly at him. “Told you she doesn’t respect her elders.”
“I quite like you. Come find me when your brother can’t stand you no more.” Xie Luyang joked as he picked up his drink and clinked glasses with Su Tong.
With Su Tong’s presence, the meal was very spirited.
On the way back to the car, Xie Luyang took advantage of the red light to stare at Su Zhou’s side profile. “Auntie was right. You are indeed quite venerable.” As soon as the words left his mouth, he doubled over in laughter.
Su Zhou turned sheepish at his words and outright ignored his jest as he declared, “When she comes over next time, she can go straight to you. I don’t want to be involved.”
“That’s fine with me.”
Conversations between the two always ended with Xie Luyang having the last word. He felt a tad helpless. Su Zhou was far too passive and never actively sought out topics to discuss.
Which made it all the more unexpected when after a brief period of silence, Su Zhou suddenly spoke up. “You rarely mention your family.”
The subject matter was one Xie Luyang hadn’t expected. He turned solemn. “I’m not very close to them.”
He did not want to divulge anything more. Su Zhou, likewise, did not pry.
After arriving home, Xie Luyang had Su Zhou sit down on the sofa, citing having something to discuss with him. Su Zhou mused, “What is it?”
Xie Luyang picked up the paper on the coffee table and held it up to Su Zhou’s eyes. “Let’s talk about this.”
Su Zhou’s countenance turned ashen at the sight of the paper. He had been banking on the chance that Xie Luyang had seen it and wasn’t going to confront him about it after a few days had passed.
Knowing that Su Zhou wouldn’t take the initiative to speak, Xie Luyang began, “I’ve read through what you wrote. I have a few questions.”
Although Su Zhou kept mum, there was a questioning look in his eyes.
“Have you ever owned a dog?”
“Do you know what a humanoid dog looks like?”
“The body of a human, but with a dog’s heart.” Xie Luyang had seen it for himself in the club, leaving a profound impression on him; though he presumed whatever Su Zhou wrote did not refer to it.
Su Zhou was indeed caught off guard by his description. “That wasn’t what I meant!”
“You mean K-9 roleplay?”
Su Zhou’s eyes wavered, but he did not deny it.
“Do you know what the greatest characteristic of a dog slave is?”
Su Zhou thought about it and quickly answered, “Loyalty.”
“What else?” Su Zhou knitted his brows, shook his head cluelessly before answering, “I don’t know.”
“Infatuation and the worshipping of one’s master.” Xie Luyang smiled pointedly, “Are you infatuated with me?”
Su Zhou froze, his lips faintly parted.
Seeing that he couldn’t answer, Xie Luyang didn’t push any further and temporarily changed the topic. “Do you have anything you want to ask me?”
Su Zhou thought about it and asked the words that had been on his mind for days. “Do you… not like having your feet licked?”
Xie Luyang did not expect Su Zhou to ask such a question. He was at a loss as to how to respond, so he asked Su Zhou instead. “Do you really want to lick my feet?”
Now it was Su Zhou’s turn to be embarrassed. The question of whether he liked to lick or if the other consented to be licked; frankly, the second question was more humiliating to answer. He lowered his head and responded with a murmur of agreement.
As Su Zhou dawdled, Xie Luyang was likewise pondering on how to respond with his affirmation. Fortunately, he had been reading up on dom and sub psychological demands in addition to his practical experience. “Naturally, I would allow you to lick if you behave well, but only after completing what I like,” he answered calmly. As for what constitutes a good performance, that’s up to me.
Su Zhou was blindsided by his words and asked tentatively, “So… what do you like?”
“You’ll slowly come to know my likes. I will not do anything that might cause you irreversible harm, and as for the rest, shouldn’t you obey unconditionally?” The more Xie Luyang spoke, the more he felt that he was overdoing it. The conversation seemed to be going off the rails, thus he tightened the reins and wrenched the discussion back en route. “Just now you meant you wanted to be a dog slave, did I understand you correctly?”
Su Zhou acquiesced with a soft hum.
“Then you must listen to all my every order.”
“Yes. Have you ever seen a dog rebel against its owner?” The truth of the matter was that Xie Luyang had understood Su Zhou didn’t have an in-depth understanding of what a dog slave was; he was only interested in being humiliated as a dog.
Seeing that Su Zhou didn’t speak, Xie Luyang added, “It’s okay if you can’t do it. I’m asking you because we need to communicate. It’s so you don’t let me down when I start playing.”
Su Zhou finally spoke up, “I can’t do it… Not right now.”
“That’s okay. We can talk about it again in the near future.” Xie Luyang looked down at the assignment and continued, “I also see you’ve written foul language and golden shower, are you sure they’re acceptable?”
It was common for many M’s to like to be degraded and humiliated. But, he had never heard Su Zhou swear before. What a surprising contrast.
Su Zhou nodded blankly.
“Drinking it is fine?” Xie Luyang reiterated.
Only then did Su Zhou react. “No! I can’t drink. I just…”
“I got it. Showering is alright, yes?”
“…En.” Su Zhou affirmed with a squeak as soft as a mosquito’s buzz.
“Another thing. I don’t like scolding people. But, I can give it a try.”
This time Su Zhou kept his head down and didn’t speak.
Xie Luyang was speechless. He came into contact with SM because of Su Zhou, but he ended up looking more enthusiastic than the other party. Su Zhou had him at a loss at times; having this kind of hobby but being so reserved, making it seem as if he was being forced into it by him.
“I hope you can let go further down the line, so that I can be more involved.”
“En.” Su Zhou still refused to raise his head.
Xie Luyang had his hands tied. Su Zhou seemed to be the type that needed to be coerced. The more gentle he was, the less cooperative he would be; he would have to be forced.
“I didn’t want to be so strict with you, but I am losing my patience the more you keep this behavior up. Look at me.” Xie Luyang set down the sheet of paper. “When you answer me, you are to say: yes, master. Enough with your nonverbal answers.”
Su Zhou lifted his head slightly, his eyes darting upward at Xie Luyang as he mulled over his response.
“My words are useless, is it?” Seeing that he was silent, Xie Luyang raised his voice.
“No!” Su Zhou panicked, and quickly replied.
“Then, answer my last question again.”
“Was that so hard? What were you pretending for?!” Su Zhou’s lack of progression made Xie Lu Yang inexplicably irritated. He ordered, “Go shower. When you come out, you are not to dress yourself.”
T/N: Hello! I’m very sorry for not updating in a while. I’ve developed some health issues which took my attention away from both my day job and translation projects which was why I hadn’t been around. Until further notice, Coming Twogether As One would be on semi-hiatus as I want to focus on getting better. Updates will still come but it’ll be sporadic. Thank you for your understanding. In other news, the smut is finally coming next chapter!
